Vineyard and Orchard
The Dunham Estate was founded in 2009 when we planted our first 100 olive trees in the Napa Valley’s Carneros AVA. The operation continued to grow when we purchased the Amigo One vineyard and nearly tripled our olive oil production. The vineyard and orchard was formerly the first Carneros property purchased by Robert Sinskey, the late founder of Robert Sinskey Vineyards and has been farmed organically for more than 40 years. He named the property “Amigo One” and we kept the name in his honor. It hosts five acres of pinot noir grapes in addition to plentiful olive, fruit, and nut trees.
Our trees range in age from new plantings to 30 years old and are primarily Leccino, Pendolino, and Frantoio varietals along with a few Mission, Nocellara, Farga, and Carolea.
The Carneros AVA is in the southern tip of Napa County and is bracketed by the Napa River to the east and Sonoma County to the west. Carneros is known for its cool climate due to the marine fog layer from the San Pablo Bay to the south. Carneros is known for cool-climate grapes such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Located in Napa's Carneros AVA, the fabled Amigo One vineyard has a legacy all its own. The vineyard was first planted by organic adherent, vintner, and physician Robert "Bob" Sinskey in 1982 and has been farmed organic ever since. The vineyard is planted in pinot noir and the orchard consists of 250+ olive trees, in addition to various fruit and nut trees.
Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is cold pressed in extremely small batches using a special milling technique for the best flavor possible.
This oil is our standard-bearer and this is the olive oil we use in our home every day.
Due to a special milling technique, this is the most charismatic of the Dunham Estate oils.
Olio Nuevo means “new oil” in Italian and this bottling represents our Carneros Estate oil in its adolescence.
NEW! Available in 2025, this oil comes from mature Tuscan varietal olives in the warmer climate of northern Napa Valley.
